Den här tråden är för alla er som jobbar med it. Angående kommentarer jag har sett med gissningar och felaktigheter.
När jag bodde i Sverige funderade jag på hur det skulle vara att jobba i USA. Städerna, techbolagen, lönerna. Men det kändes som en omöjlighet och jag visste inte var jag skulle börja. Om du går i samma tankar, så är den här tråden för dig.
1. ”Det är svårt att flytta till USA, man måste vara någon slags chef”
Det lättaste sättet att flytta hit är genom att gifta dig med en amerikan. Men som senior utvecklare kan du definitiv få ett visum också. Och visumet kan så småningom bli till ett Green Card om du vill.
Det finns tre alternativ:
a) Hitta en startup i Sverige som etablerar sig i USA. De har specialla visum som är enkla att få och förnya.
b) Hitta ett eteblerat företag i Sverige som har kontor i USA. Du jobbar där i ett år och ber om att få flytta. Om du är kompetent och de ser nytta av dig i USA så kan de sponsra ditt visum (L-1B). (tänk: etablera nytt team, bidra med kunskap, eller att de vill behålla dig).
c) Ansök direkt till ett techbolag i USA. Meta/Apple/Amazon/Netflix/Google (fd. FAANG). Just nu är rekryteringsklimatet lite ljummet, men det återhämtar sig. Du ansöker direkt eller väntar på att de hör av sig på LinkedIn. Om du klarar deras intervju så löser de visumet. H-1B eller O-1 (eller i värsta fall L-1B och du bor i London ett år innan USA-flytten)
2. ”Lönerna är högre, men kostnaderna också, det går jämnt upp”
Folk här har nämnt löner runt 100k-130k. Låter bra, tills du flyttar och inser hur höga utgifterna är.
Det finns bolag som lockar med att bo i USA och betalar så lite de kan, för att sedan hålla dig gisslan med visumet. Men om du jobbar på ett välkänt techbolag som senior utvecklare är lönerna i någon av de största städerna snarare 160-250k. Om du jobbar på FAANG så är lönen snarare 250-350k (inkl. optioner). Troligtvis kommer du att erbjudas något i det lägre spannet, när du först flyttar hit, för att sedan snabbt stiga i lön.
Trots att kostnaderna är högre, så kommer du ha mer pengar kvar. Säg att du tjänar 70k/mån i Sverige, 48k efter skatt. Du betalar hyra på 15 000 kr i Stockholm. Du har 33 000 kronor kvar. Sen mat m.m. på det.
Skatterna är mer komplicerade i USA och varierar per delstat/stad. Men säg att du tjänar $200k, då kanske du får ut runt $11k efter skatt i månaden. Efter hyra på 3k i månaden har du 8k över. Med valutakursen, nästan 90 000 kr. Det räcker för att väga upp dyrare mat och annat.
3. ”Men har hört att sjukförsäkring och hälsokostnader är dyra”
Det är sant, men du har oftast bra villkor på techbolag och personligen spender jag mindre på sjukvård än jag någonsin gjorde i Sverige. Plus det är lättare och snabbare att får sjukvård. Undantaget är om du har barn här, det kan bli väldigt dyrt, även med dagis m.m.
4. ”Amerika är inte ett land jag vill associera mig med”

Inte lika mycket ledighet som i Sverige, mer fokus på jobb. Men upplever också att mina kollegor är mer drivna, vilket kan vara kul. Det går att hitta bra arbetsförhållanden också, med normala veckor och 4-5v semester. Det finns en direkt korrelation mellan arbetsförhållanden och din lön, där FAANG-bolagen tenderar att vara mer stress, beroende på team. Jag jobbar personligen inte mer än 40h per vecka.

After an insane 3-0 start to the season, highlighted by a game we scored 70 points in, the team got humbled by a rolling Buffalo Bills team that reminded everyone that defense is just as important as offense in this league. We were only able to score 20 points but honestly it felt like we scored much less. Defensively, we could not stop a single thing that Buffalo tried to do, aside from running the ball. On the bright side, Devon Achane proved that he was not a one hit wonder as he ran for 102 yards on just 8 carries and scored another two touchdowns against the vaunted Buffalo defense. He now has 6 touchdowns in two games. Next week head back home to face a struggling Giants team that just allowed 11 sacks to their QB. Hopefully it serves as a get right game for our struggling, but talented, defense. | |
| 7. | Lions | -- | 3-1 | Dan Campbell has now won 4 straight games against the Green Bay Packers, including two consecutive primetime games at Lambeau. Lions fans were celebrating so loudly after the game that Amazon’s post-game show was barely able to function. David Montgomery thanked God in the endzone that he was no longer a Chicago Bear en route to a 3 TD, 100+ yard performance. Thursday was just an incredible showing in just about every facet of the game and, to keep the good news rolling, Jameson Williams’ suspension has been rescinded by the NFL, making him eligible to return to full activities and play in the upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers. Jamo will hopefully bring another dimension to this offense, stretching the field and allowing the likes of LaPorta, St. Brown, and Gibbs to punish teams in the intermediate passing game. While he’ll most likely be on a pitch-count Sunday, How Ben Johnson utilizes those 10-20 snaps of Jamo to make some magic happen will be exciting to watch, especially against a lackluster Carolina defense who’s missing their best secondary weapon in Jaycee Horn. | |
| 8. | Ravens | -- | 3-1 | Last week I rambled on about how the best teams "win the games they're supposed to" and, unlike last week, that's exactly what the Ravens did. While the Browns may have been Chubb-less, and their QB decided he was a little too sore to endure the onslaught of punishment we piled on DTR, dropping a 25 point margin of victory over that defense on the road is no small task. The Ravens defense is flying all over the field and is getting strong contributions from up and down the roster. A backup safety making paltry pennies is routinely coming up with clutch interceptions. Lazy locker room malcontents are buying in and generating consistent pressures week after week. Kyle Hamilton is quickly turning into the human swiss army knife we drafted him to be. Oh, and Roquan Smith is still a bad motherfucker. Missing the services of our All Pro left tackle we inexplicably decided to leave our resident frequent flyer fill-in Patrick Mekari on an island against the inhuman freak that is Myles Garrett. Despite that very predictably leaving Lamar Jackson under permanent duress he engineered one of the most insanely accurate two minute drives you'll ever see. Turns out he's making a bit of a habit of that. Up next is either a hobbled Kenny Pickett or the Titty Kisser himself. If this team can stack another one of those "supposed to win" games they'll be 3-0 in divisional road games by the end of week 5. | |
| 9. | Seahawks | +3 | 3-1 | After a disgusting loss to begin the season against the Rams, Seattle has cruised to three straight wins and sit at 3-1 entering the bye week. I am typically opposed to early bye weeks, but this one could not have come at a more opportune time. The offensive line is in shambles, with both tackles Abe Lucas and Charles Cross not playing since the opener. The Seahawks then lost their two starting guards last night in the drubbing of the Giants, shifting starting center Evan Brown to LG while rookie center Olu Oluwatimi subbed in at center. Despite spotty defensive play, the Seahawks have looked very nice these past few weeks. Devon Witherspoon has looked like a stud and very much worth the #5 overall pick. And finally... say what you will about Jamal Adams, but it is nearly impossible not to feel terrible for the dude. Heal up. | |

For the second week in a row, we get another failed 4th-and-Staley, another (nearly) game-sealing goal line interception, another win marred by injury, another historic performance (this time Mack's 6 sack game), another rollercoaster of drama that seems to end every Chargers game, but most importantly, another win. With all of the injuries piling up, a Week 5 bye never looked so sweet. | |

The Titans defense was able to limit a hobbled Joe Burrow’s scoring to an opening drive field goal. The Titans offense was able to put together eight explosive plays in the first half and after a 10:19 scoring drive to open the second half, the game seemed under control for the Titans. The Colts are up next in week 5, the Titans will need to bring the elevated play from their home games on the road if they want to get their first division win on Sunday. | |

From injuring receivers, to throwing more accurately to defenders, to an inability to multitask in the pocket, Ridder's play is unprofessional enough to strain an otherwise healthy locker room. There are quarterbacks who need time to show the world they have "it", but there's a fine line between patience and apologies wearing out their welcome. Until a change is seen or made, teams will continue to beg Atlanta to throw, and Atlanta will continue to tread water. | |

Sammy Howell bounced back from his dismal 4INT performance against Buffalo and put together a much more NFL worthy performance this weekend in Philly, which included an icy veined 2 minute drill with a last second dart to send it to OT. The loss stings, but the Commanders are 2-2 going into a stretch of very winnable games. There is hope. Of course there are plenty of concerning things, like this defense packed with 1st round picks not performing to expectation, but it is hard not to feel some optimism having seen this team go toe to toe with last year's NFC Champs. Now the question is: Can this team take care of business against a team they're absolutely supposed to beat? We'll see on Thursday. Oh and speaking of toes, Terry McLaurin's were in. | 20. | Colts | +1 | 2-2 | For the second straight week, the Colts came from behind to force overtime against a favored opponent. But unlike last week's win over Baltimore, Indy couldn't quite pull off the upset this time. Anthony Richardson returned from his concussion and led the offense from down 23-0 to tie the game with just under 2 minutes left. But after both teams failed to score again at the end of regulation, the Rams took the ball in OT and never gave it back. AR looked great in the second half, making several key plays down the stretch and consistently avoiding pressure from Aaron Donald and the Rams' front seven (despite playing behind an O-line missing its starting LT and C). But for the first time this season, the Indy defense looked lost for much of the game, mostly failing to pressure Matthew Stafford, and allowing him and Puka Nacua to dissect the zone coverage with ease — including for the wide-open game-winner. They can't let that happen again. Still, with a weak schedule ahead and a serious playmaker at QB, you have to like which way the Colts are trending. | 21. | Texans | +7 | 2-2 | For long time Texans fans, hope is a difficult feeling to comprehend. Yeah, CJ Stroud just blew out the Jaguars. Sure, he’s setting rookie records left and right. But now here comes the Pittsburgh Steelers and their heralded defense to town and the other shoe is about to drop like it always does. Except it didn’t. Despite going against the MAS*H unit that is the Texans O-Line, TJ Watt and the Steelers had very little in the way of pressure and couldn’t manage a sack. Stroud dropped another 306 yards, 2 more TDs, and (once again) 0 INTs. After Tank Dell went off last week, Nico Collins got his turn to be the receiver of the day with a career high 168 yards and 2 TDs. Hell, even Devin Singletary got to toss a TD. And now the cavalry is arriving as Tytus Howard, Juice Scruggs, and (possibly) Laremy Tunsil are getting ready to return. Honestly, this doesn’t feel like the Texans that we’ve experienced for the better part of the last 21 years. In just a few months since he arrived, DeMeco Ryans has seemingly overhauled the entire culture of a franchise that appeared aimless for so long. But they collapsed early on in the game even by 2023 Bengals standards. Burrow is clearly still hurt and the coaching staff can't figure out how to gameplan around that. Using a backup QB isn't really an option since the Bengals haven't committed any time or money there either. It seems like the beatings will continue until morale improves. | |

There's really not much in the way of excuses for Pittsburgh. The Steelers O-Line is inversely bad compared to the Texans O-Line being really underrated. CJ Stroud was very interesting and absolutely held his own, keeping his mistakes to a minimum. Again, conversely, Kenny Pickett was eating the ball while Stroud was just keeping it safe. Trubisky was really no better in relief. It's just one more week until the bye, and if the Steelers can find their pride and not let the Ravens run roughshod in Acrisure, they could keep pressure on the division. The only problem is Kirk threw two interceptions: one at the 21-yard-line and one a 99-yard pick six. This team is third in yards per play on offense and 11th in yards per play allowed on defense, with PFF's 5th-highest-graded offense and 14th-highest-graded defense. Torre da Iluminação
No meio do continente central a boatos de uma torre que rasga os céus. Não se sabe ao certo quando ela foi construída ou quem a construiu. A única coisa que se sabe é o seu proposito: Desafiar os velhos deuses e transcender como um ser iluminado.
A própria existência de algo tão ousado foi considerado uma heresia pelos antigos, e como tal eles amaldiçoaram a torre. Uma mera parcela de suas existências divinas fora o suficiente para enlouquecer a todos lá dentro. Aquilo que era suposto de alcançar o divino alcançou as trevas ao invés.
Porém esse escuridão absoluta não foi o suficiente para impedir que gananciosos aventureiros se esgueirassem para dentro, na esperança de transcenderem, de se tornarem mais do que meros vermes no esquema maior das coisas.
Desnecessário dizer que todos falharam miseravelmente, sucumbindo as trevas, sendo reduzidos a apenas mais uma das inúmeras mentes doentes e retorcidas do local.
E assim foi por anos, seculos e até mesmo milênios.
Entretanto com passar das eras lendas e mitos se espalhavam entre um um povo reprimido no oriente. Profecias falavam sobre uma criança, filho de uma prostituta com um deus morto, que libertaria o seu povo da opressão e governaria sobre todo o mundo.
Dizia-se que ele possuía a força de 100 homens, dizia-se que sua beleza rivalizava com os deuses, dizia-se que sua sabedoria se equiparava as dos eruditos do oeste, dizia-se que sozinho recrutou os camponeses de seu povo e os transformara em perigosos soldados.
O Imperador do antigo Império Central, temendo pelo inicio de uma revolução e pelo fim de seu reinado milenar enviou seus melhores soldados para se infiltrar nas tropas da criança, gastou quantias inimagináveis de ouro para subornar seus mais fieis camaradas, destruindo assim seu pequeno exercito por dentro.
Se vendo completamente traído e com as tropas do imperador o sufocando cada vez mais, a criança, que agora já era um homem completamente formado, sem alternativas fugiu para dentro da torre.
Encarou de frente as loucuras do primeiro andar, os cavaleiros mortos vivos que exalavam um miasma de podridão e morte, os pobres aventureiros sem sorte que foram corrompidos pela escuridão e agora são nada mais do que serem distorcidos que zombam da existência humana, e claro, a própria escuridão.
Nascida da ganancia humana, o vazio literal que preenche o coração dos homens, o desespero cósmico no fim do túnel, o medo imensurável de um final inevitável, a fútil essência da alma humana. Conhecida por vários nomes, essa era escuridão.
Resistindo aos sussurros persuasivos das trevas e sem muitas opções, o homem continuou subindo aquela torre, a passos lentos porém confiantes. E a cada andar que subia se deparava com horrores cada vez piores, terrores inimaginável para mentes mundanas, o que ele viu ali seria o suficiente para quebrar a mente do mais são dos homem. Porém sua resiliência divina, ou talvez a força do seu povo oprimido por seculos, não o deixará desistir. Quanto mais alto chegava mais era obrigado a confrontar a existência desprezível que era os humanos.
Próximo ao fim de sua solitária jornada se viu de frente com os antigos.
Primeiro com a deusa do amor – com sua pele prateada que parecia refletir o brilho da lua. Ela não possuía olhos e por todo o seu corpo estava volumosos seios fartos, com apenas o seu bico dourado como o mais puro ouro. Também possuía diversas genitálias de diversos sexos, tamanhos e formatos diferentes, até parecia que seu corpo havia sido criado para dar o máximo de prazer possível para a humanidade.
Depois o deus da guerra – Uma massa colossal de músculos, com uma tonalidade vermelha vibrante e milhares de braços se estendendo por todo o seu corpo, todos com a grossura de um cavalo. Cada braço segurava uma arma diferente, desdê espadas, maças, alabardas e ate mesmo armas com aparência alienígena que nunca fora vista antes, e o que todas tinham em comum era seu tamanho exageradamente grandes. Tudo isso era segurado por duas pequenas pernas frágeis, que mal parecia suportar todo aquele peso.
E por fim ele viu um ser sem forma e sem nome – não possuía rosto, não tinha torso, não tinha membros, era uma existência abominável e esplendida que brilhava tanto quanto o sol. Seu brilho era tão estupidamente forte que quase apagava a presença dos outros deuses, era apenas um conceito.
Aqueles seres o faziam se sentir menos que um humano, uma mosca, um verme, apenas mais uma engrenagem no esquema maior das coisas. Um esquema criado pelos deuses… mas não seria os deuses no fim apenas um conceito criado pelo homem? Um reflexo de suas mentes sedentas para preencherem a escuridão que fundamentalmente compõem suas almas? Todos os horrores vistos nesta torre, não teriam em seu principio obras criadas pelos homens? A verdadeira escuridão nesta torre não seria, no final de tudo, nada mais que a absoluta natureza humana?
O homem então chega ao topo da torre, sem ter sido corrompido pelas trevas, porém ao invés disso a assimilado, se amalgamando e se tornando um novo ser.
O que ele viu lá em cima é desconhecido, porém o que se sabe é que logo em seguida o homem pulou do topo da torre, caindo como um meteoro de fogo ardente que cortou através dos céus.
Quando seu corpo alcançou o chão, labaredas de um fogo branco se espalharam por todo o mundo, incinerando completamente o Império central, também o seu povo que o trairá. Então das cinzas do velho Mundo uma cidade de ouro se ergueu das profundezas, onde o homem reinou para todo o sempre, como o absoluto, Sol da meia-noite.

Resistindo aos sussurros persuasivos das trevas e sem muitas opções, o homem continuou subindo aquela torre, a passos lentos porém confiantes. E a cada andar que subia se deparava com horrores cada vez piores, terrores inimaginável para mentes mundanas, o que ele viu ali seria o suficiente para quebrar a mente do mais são dos homem. Porém sua resiliência divina, ou talvez a força do seu povo oprimido por seculos, não o deixará desistir. Quanto mais alto chegava mais era obrigado a confrontar a existência desprezível que era os humanos.
Próximo ao fim de sua solitária jornada se viu de frente com os antigos.
Primeiro com a deusa do amor – com sua pele prateada que parecia refletir o brilho da lua. Ela não possuía olhos e por todo o seu corpo estava volumosos seios fartos, com apenas o seu bico dourado como o mais puro ouro. Também possuía diversas genitálias de diversos sexos, tamanhos e formatos diferentes, até parecia que seu corpo havia sido criado para dar o máximo de prazer possível para a humanidade.
Depois o deus da guerra – Uma massa colossal de músculos, com uma tonalidade vermelha vibrante e milhares de braços se estendendo por todo o seu corpo, todos com a grossura de um cavalo. Cada braço segurava uma arma diferente, desdê espadas, maças, alabardas e ate mesmo armas com aparência alienígena que nunca fora vista antes, e o que todas tinham em comum era seu tamanho exageradamente grandes. Tudo isso era segurado por duas pequenas pernas frágeis, que mal parecia suportar todo aquele peso.
E por fim ele viu um ser sem forma e sem nome – não possuía rosto, não tinha torso, não tinha membros, era uma existência abominável e esplendida que brilhava tanto quanto o sol. Seu brilho era tão estupidamente forte que quase apagava a presença dos outros deuses, era apenas um conceito.
Aqueles seres o faziam se sentir menos que um humano, uma mosca, um verme, apenas mais uma engrenagem no esquema maior das coisas. Um esquema criado pelos deuses… mas não seria os deuses no fim apenas um conceito criado pelo homem? Um reflexo de suas mentes sedentas para preencherem a escuridão que fundamentalmente compõem suas almas? Todos os horrores vistos nesta torre, não teriam em seu principio obras criadas pelos homens? A verdadeira escuridão nesta torre não seria, no final de tudo, nada mais que a absoluta natureza humana?
O homem então chega ao topo da torre, sem ter sido corrompido pelas trevas, porém ao invés disso a assimilado, se amalgamando e se tornando um novo ser.
O que ele viu lá em cima é desconhecido, porém o que se sabe é que logo em seguida o homem pulou do topo da torre, caindo como um meteoro de fogo ardente que cortou através dos céus.
Quando seu corpo alcançou o chão, labaredas de um fogo branco se espalharam por todo o mundo, incinerando completamente o Império central, também o seu povo que o trairá. Então das cinzas do velho Mundo uma cidade de ouro se ergueu das profundezas, onde o homem reinou para todo o sempre, como o absoluto, Sol da meia-noite.

2023.10.03 00:32 Chingaquedito98 Gente, cuéntenme la razón más pendeja por la cual los hayan regañado/castigado en la primaria
Tengo dos historias, ambas en la misma escuela primaria que era un colegio evangélico, y la directora y dueña del changarro profesaba dicha religión.
En una ocasión mientras esperabamos que pasaran por nosotros cuando estaba en segundo año de primaria, estabamos dos amiguitas y yo ocupándonos de nuestros asuntos, nos reíamos de una vieja canción ""Toda la vida" creo que de Emmanuel (eran principios los 90's). Nos causaba gracia cantándola diciendo "Toda la vida comiendo tacos en la esquina", ya saben,el arte perdido de cambiarle la letra a las canciones... entonces llega ésta otra niña y nos canta otra versión de la misma canción que hacía alusión a calzones y cagarse encima (nada sexual, en ese tiempo los niños no estábamos expuestos a contenidos sexuales explícitos), nos reimos un poco y ella se fué. Al poco rato llega la directora bien enojada a gritonearme por cantar groserías, y quería que escribiera en el cuaderno lo que habían cantado... yo claro que me solté a llorar porque no me gusta que me griten y menos sin razón. Una amiga decide escribirlo usando la letra de los calzones de la otra niña y lo llevé a revisar, me gritoneó de nuevo, le dió la queja a mi mamá corregida y aumentada...y bueno, fué un mal rato. Nunca supimos cómo supo de lo de las canciones o como llegó a la conclusión de que era yo, sospechamos de que añguien nos oyó y le fué con el chisme a la dire.
La otra fue estúpida e injusta.
En cuarto grado, entraron varios niños nuevos al grupo, se vinieron varios de otro colegio en bandada. Uno de los niños, (que llamaremos "Mierdino") que entraron en ese año tenía alguna rencilla personal contra mí, ya que gustaba de hacerme bullying, claro, yo no me dejaba y lo madreaba, pero ésto me traía problemas, ya que la directora siempre se iba contra mí.
Cierta vez a punto de salir de la escuela, yo acomodaba mis libros y llega uno de los niños (a éste lo llamaré "Mojoncio") que venían de otro colegio y de la nada me pregunta algo de naturaleza sexual que involucraba a otro niño que era mi primo, él había estado en el colegio y solía defenderme de Mierdino y sus amigos, pero se cambió semanas ántes. Yo me quedé en blanco, no entendía por qué me preguntaba eso, yo sólo agarré y me fuí con mis compañeras que me preguntaron lo que pasó y cuando les dije, insistieron que le dijera al maestro. Yo me negué, acostumbrada a que cuando pedía ayuda solo me decían que ignorara a los huerquitos. Al final me convencieron, me acompañaron a decirle al maestro, quien al no saber manejar dicha situación, decide decirle a la directora. Mandan llamar a Mojoncio y le preguntan por qué lo hizo, Mojoncio explicó que ellos y Mierdino estaban hablando de prostitutas... cabe mencionar que teníamos todos alrededor de 10 años... ¿Qué chingados hacían unos mocosos de 10 años hablando de esos temas? ¿Y qué tenía qué ver conmigo?
Al final, lo castigaron poniéndolo a escribir 200 veces "Debo respetar a mis compañeras"
Sería un buen final de no ser porque...

Al final, lo castigaron poniéndolo a escribir 200 veces "Debo respetar a mis compañeras"
Sería un buen final de no ser porque...
